Danny Jones
DANNY JONES: Has over 40 years of experience in the music business, as
a music producer, recording engineer/mixer, drummer/percussionist,
songwriter, vocalist, and educator. He has owned and worked at some of
the most prestigious recording studios working for years with iconic
songwriter and producer Allen Toussaint. Recently he mixed Al Green’s
Greatest hits in Dolby Atmos.
EXPERIENCE: Danny has been a creative part of over 50 charting
recordings including two Grammy award winners. He has also won four
Premier Players Awards as a member of the Memphis music community. As
a Drummer and Vocalist toured the USA extensively performing with his
own band and backing up other artists.

TOURING EXPERIENCE: As a Drummer and Vocalist, Danny Jones has

The Platters, The Coasters sharing the stage with Grand Funk, Blood
Sweat & Tears, Chubby Checker, Little Richard, Foghat, Roy Orbison,
Jackie Wilson, Lou Rawls and many others. His Songwriting credits include
a theme song on an ESPN show and a song on Star Search. He also
performed on an episode of NBC's The Midnight Special.

AFFLIATIONS: Former National Trustee of the National
Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (The Grammys), Memphis Chapter
President, Member of Memphis and Texas Chapters Board of Governors.
Former &KDLUPDQ of the Music Industry Advisory Committee (University of
Memphis). Former member of the American Federation of Musicians.
EDUCATION Danny graduated from Jonesboro High School (Arkansas). He was an All-State musician and
member of the National Honor Society. He then attended Arkansas State University and University of New
Orleans studying Music Education and Music Business.
EDUCATOR: An adjunct faculty member at the University of Memphis (over 10 years) in the Music Industries
Division. Many of those students now work professionally in the recording/TV industry. Currently teaching
percussion privately. Has and continues to judge, direct, and coordinate percussion for junior and high school
all-region Bands and band camps. His former students have gone on to attend the University of North Texas,
University of Texas, Sam Houston State University, USC, Eastman School of Music, and many others.
