Tracy Hamlin

Trying to describe her with one word would be impossible. Few can master one genre of music, but pure, God-given talent allows her to master all. Her movements attract you, her music captivates you, and her voice soothes your soul with joy. Her immeasurable vocal, songwriting, and producing talents bestow upon audiences a remarkable experience, replenishing one's hopefulness, love, and aspiration.

On a substantial foundation of education, Tracy Hamlin developed classical proficiency and skill, learning to sing in French, German, and Italian at the Baltimore School of the Arts and the prestigious Peabody Preparatory School of Music. She has performed alongside numerous music legends, including Carlos Santana, Marcus Miller, Peabo Bryson, Will Downing, Jonathan Butler, Esperanza Spalding, and Chaka Khan, to name a few. She toured internationally as a lead background vocalist for Disco Queen Gloria Gaynor, as well as being credited as a vocal arranger on Gloria’s last project. Tracy also toured internationally as the lead vocalist with the Jazz recording group, Pieces of a Dream.

The songstress fuses the boundaries between Soul, Jazz, R&B, and Dance music and has experienced significant international success, holding the #1 position on the UK Soul Charts for two weeks with Better Days, and also for two weeks with This is My Life in 2013. Her project, No Limits held the #1 position on the UK Soul Charts for five weeks in 2015! DMH RECORDS, LLC. In addition, Tracy stays current as a recording artist by consistently releasing Soulful Dance music singles in collaboration with International Producers for various record labels worldwide from King Street, Let There Be House Records, and Groove Culture to name a few.

Hamlin executive produced five solo albums through her own label, DMH Records, LLC, ‘Seasons’ (2005), ‘Better Days’ (2009), ‘This is My Life’ (2013), ‘Home’ (2013), and ‘No Limits’ (2015) and multiple dance music singles from 2012 to present.

Tracy received her first taste of “behind the scenes” of the music industry while working as a Regional Promotions Manager for Russell Simmons and Def Jam Recordings. In addition, she produces and coordinates an annual mini jazz festival on the beautiful island of St. Lucia. In 2018, she created the annual Sweet Jazz & Wine Festival in Leesburg, Virginia, with partial proceeds to provide scholarships for private music instruction to students from low-income families.

With ten years of teaching Music Appreciation to kids with Dyslexia at the Jemicy School, Hamlin aspires to continue her development and growth as an artist and to continue mentoring a new generation of vocalists while performing around the globe.

In recent years, Tracy has played an active role in The Recording Academy. She has been a board member and Vice President of The Washington DC Chapter. She is a former National Trustee of the Recording Academy with service on the Finance, Membership, Awards & Nominations, Planning & Governance, and the Blue Ribbon Committee for Music Educator of the Year Award. In addition, Hamlin also serves on the Executive Board of Directors as Chair for Visit Loudoun in Loudoun County, Virginia.
